What a lovely little spot in this charming city of Tomar. The hotel sits quietly on a corner along a very pleasant street through the old section of town , very near the old town square. It’s also an easy ten minute walk to the train station, so nicely situated for a variety of historical walks through the beautiful parks and by the Navao River. The hotel itself has been nicely redone, with a lot of comfortable, elegantly understated festures. We were happy to return here every evening after our explorations. Lots of wonderful restaurants very nearby. Breakfast is a fresh and delicious array of coffee, breads, cheeses and freshly prepared fruits and yoghurts- the best way to start the day. And the most wonderful thing about the hotel is the staff. They are all so well versed in gracious, genuinely kind and helpful conversation. We were struck with their hosting abilities and manners. Dagmar, Rita and Joao are to be commended for their excellence- Casa dos Officios Hotel is very fortunate to have them representing their business.

Casa dos Oficious is an excellent choice when in Tomar. Perfectly located in the old town and an easy walk up to the convent and castle, it has a charm and staff that represent the best of a boutique hotel, with a relaxed and friendly feel. Walk back in time in the lobby with its preserved stone steps from prior civilizations. Relax in the large and comfortable library/social space with honor bar and books with local history. Chat with the lovely owner and staff (Joao especially) who provided excellent suggestions and enthusiastically accommodated us when we needed some extra assistance. The rooms were, not surprisingly, excellent … spacious, quiet, comfortable, and very well-appointed. Breakfast is excellent and parking is very close and affordable. The history in Tomar is fascinating and shouldn’t be missed, and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else while there.

The hotel is in a historic building but with modern bathrooms, A/C and comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Hotel entrance is on a narrow medieval street. We didn't dare to drive there and instead left our car at the parking garage a block away from the hotel. It's easier to bring your luggage, it's just a 5 min. walk from the garage. Parking is 6 Euro per 24 hours but you need to pay in advance at the parking garage counter on the first floor. We stayed in Deluxe Double room #106. The suite had a little sitting room with sofa, decent size bedroom with a small bar-refrigerator and coffee/ tea maker. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was the best part of our suite, spacious with a stylish tub on claw legs and a shower. Breakfast was decent with a selection of cheese, meats, fruit, yogurt and scrambled eggs.

The staff member personally checking us in proceeded to take our bags up on the lift. He went over the various sites and times with a map while leaving our baggage. He spent considerable amounts of time as to stress which sites we must seen Sunday(our arrival) as only one item of import was open on Monday. In addition my spouse and I came down with a horrible cold/flu on Sunday night and literally could not leave bed on Monday. Casa d Oficios made sure we had a breakfast tray and allowed us to stay another day while not disturbing us. excellent staff and Breakfast. The bar in a side lv8ing room was entirely complementary although we did not avail ourselves of it. Tomar was definitely a highlight of our Trip and lots of kudos to this Hotel and staff.

This is a beautiful hotel! We had trouble finding it (evidently common since the streets in Tomar around the hotel are narrow). The reception lady found us and explained how to proceed. We parked the car outside the front and off-loaded our luggage then moved the car to the parking garage. 6 Euros for 24 hours. Make sure to pay the garage man in advance otherwise you will pay hourly. The hotel elevator is large and convenient. We had room 204. OMG the bed was Huge! Maybe in US standards the size of 2 double beds. I should have taken a photo! Very comfy room and very quiet. Breakfast in the morning was great. I highly suggest this hotel if you find yourself in Tomar.
